Hey everyone and welcome to a new year of blog posts in 2017! To start things off, I’m going to be trying out some different ideas for my blog posts so I hope you enjoy them.
Since the first of January, last Sunday, this week has been an incredibly enjoyable and interesting one for me. Last Sunday, my whole family sent me up to KL after my break and we attended my church here in KL (Acts Church) together.
It was during that Sunday that I decided that I was going to have the theme of “Going Deeper” as the theme for my life this year in 2017. This year I want to go deeper in the things that matter in my life:
- Relationship with God
- Relationship with friends and family
- Studies
Going deeper means that I want to grow stronger in these areas, work harder on these things and see better results in these areas.
Pastor Kenneth also mentioned a few things which relate to what I plan to achieve in 2017.
1. Prioritise
So often we are “busy” or seem to be “busy” because we do not prioritize. When we do, we find that we have more time for the things that matter and we do not have to say no or “sorry, I’m busy” to the people that matter in our lives.
This year, my hope is that I’ll never have to say no to the people that matter the most in my life and that I’ll work hard and see results in the things which I prioritise.
2. Do the RIGHT thing not the GOOD thing
This one is a tough one to understand at first because we all want to do good things. At least most of us are. But, the problem is just because something is good, does not mean that it is the RIGHT thing for us to do.
What this means is that it might not be the right time for us to do it or we might not be the right people to do it. So, just because something is good does not mean we have to do it. Instead, we should do what is RIGHT. What is right for us and for the season of life we are in.
This for me means that I might have to cut down some of the many things which I’m pursuing or hoping to pursue. As someone with many passions, it’s hard. But, I believe that if I want 2017 to be a great year, it means that I’ll have to really take time to re
But, I believe that if I want 2017 to be a great year, it means that I’ll have to really take the time to reflect on what are the RIGHT things for me to pursue this year and hopefully I’ll have the strength to truly focus on them.
3. Live by FAITH, not by SIGHT
This year I’m going to be trying out new things and new ideas and hopefully even do things which are out of my comfort zone in faith. This means that though something might seem incredibly ridiculous or impossible (living by SIGHT) but if I have been called to do it, I want to respond and do it out of faith and belief that God is in control of my life and He knows the BIGGER picture.
I’ve lived most of my life merely by SIGHT alone, where rational thinking has seemed to get me through pretty well. But, this year as I expect not only just wonderful and amazing things to happen in my life but miracles. I want to live by FAITH. I want to live by responding to God’s promptings in my heart and in my SPIRIT to do things out of FAITH.
One of the things I’ve done out of FAITH this year is to start a gratitude jar where every day I would put a small note into it describing what has happened throughout the day and the things I’m grateful to God for. At the end of the year when I open it, I believe I will truly see that miracles and wonders have taken place in my life in 2017.

The first 7 days of 2017 has already been such a wonderful time and there are new things that I’m going to be part of such as dancing classes and new projects and ideas that I’m hoping to initiate that will hopefully bless and touch the lives of many.
I hope that you will join me as I go through this year. I do not know what lies ahead, but I do know that God will be with me and that it will be an amazing year yet. I’m super excited about the year ahead. Are you??
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR 2017?
